The Gender Equity Centre is a safe-space providing peer support, advocacy, resources, accompaniment and assist you through your experience and connect and provide referral to additional supports on and off campus, based on your needs.
If you’d like to get involved, we support and help facilitate groups, workshops, talks and peer support creative programming. Additionally, if you’d like to develop and run a campaign or support events, please get in touch by emailing gec@lusu.ca.
You have the right to feel and be safe.
You have the right to express your opinion.
You have the right to safe spaces on campus.
You have the right not to be touched in a manner that makes you uncomfortable.
You have the right to not speak to people who make you feel usafe.
You have the right not to be followed.
You have the right to not be sexually harassed.
You have the right to be treated with respect.

Sexual assault is any sexual activity without consent, this can be but isn’t limited to kissing, grabbing, or penetration. If you have been sexually assaulted then it’s your choice if you want to report the assault to the policy or university, even if you don’t want to report it or take legal action you are entitled to comprehensive medical care. If you want or need someone to accompany you to the hospital after an assault you can call a crisis line at;
